This Wreath Took a Beading

Inspired by some bead wreaths that I saw while browsing Etsy, I decided to take on this craft myself.

Here's the end result!

Better than the wall art?

This was super easy to make. Here's what I did:
  • Purchased a wreath from a craft store. I got one of those straw ones for under $5. Note to crafters - I think it's better to keep the plastic on the wreath so that you don't have straw all over the place.
  • I found beads in bulk at a local party store. They were sold in groups of 12, and I bought 3 groups of each color (72 total beads).
  • I cut the beads and began wrapping them around the wreath and hot gluing them.
  • Once I had the wreath covered, I think took a strand of each blue and gold and twisted them together. Then I glued that down (this really helped mesh the colors).
  • Then I made a nice WVU bow!
  • I thought about placing on a wooden football and/or basketball, but I decided to keep it general - you know, in case we want to cheer on the men's baseball team in the spring.
Happy Crafting!
