Rub a Dub Lip Dub

Today I’m starting a new feature – Tech Tuesday. For these posts, I’ll feature a new online tool, gadget or Web site.

For this first post, I’m showcasing a trend I’m dying to recreate – The Lip Dub.

What is a Lip Dub?

According to Wikipedia, a Lip Dub is a type of video that combines lip synching and audio dubbing to make it a music video. It is made by filming individuals or a group of people lip synching while listening to a song or any recorded audio then dubbing over it in post editing with the original audio of the song. One of the first and most famous Lip Dub’s is by a company called Connected Ventures. See below for their take on “Flagpole Sitter.”

This weekend, I came across a very cool couple who engaged their wedding party and guests in a Lip Dup. Of course there is room for improvement on this video, but there’s a lot to love here.

So this friend is today’s lesson in Lip Dubs. I would love to post a reader submitted Dub, so I encourage you all to make me proud this summer!
